Countdown to Barcelona
October 26th, 2009

So Barcelona is a little over a week away. If you’ve been before, please leave some comments about what my friends and I should do while there (besides drink sangria and wine until we are silly).

Errin: “I’m a muse, bitches!”
October 19th, 2009

My friend Errin Haines (center), journalist extraordinaire.
She and her friend, painter Fahamu Pecou, featured their work at a gallery in New York last Friday. It was a good time.

Tangie and Damond
October 12th, 2009

Why a post about my two favorite people in New York? Why not? I really look up to these two. They are great people. Tangie (my cousin) has helped me a out a lot, indoctrinating me to the ways of New Yorkers. Damond is just an all-around cool, intelligent dude. He’s going to be a great dad…and that reminds me…
They are expecting a new baby girl in about a month. I’ll have a new cousin to play with! (And I’ll be her favorite cousin, too. Ha! Don’t believe? Just watch… All you Murray and Haynes family members have been warned.)
Randoms in New York
October 12th, 2009
I’m going to try to take more of these and post them. I see so much that intrigues me in New York. These are a couple that I’ve had for a while.

I swear to you some of these street (subway, in this case) performers take Quaaludes and then launch into their performance. This woman slowly moved through a series of slight, flowing poses. It was quite interesting until I realized it takes no real talent to do that. Perhaps I should try it and know for sure…

It was African American Pride Day in Harlem a few Sundays ago. They had a parade down Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. It was nice, mostly. The cheerleaders, some of them, looked as though someone promised them cookies and reneged on the deal. And then told them to swing pom-poms for several blocks in the sun. In other words, they did not look happy.
Brings back good memories
October 12th, 2009
…and I’m needing to remember my friends right about now. I miss them all.
This is a video on YouTube that I didn’t even know was around. Forgot how good we sound together. “Great and Awesome” (at 5:40) sounds amazing. I miss singing with my tenor crew. Leslie is directing. And you can’t see Melanie or Dominique in the video, but they’re there!
